Tolerance in Intolerance

There will be a few of these tales. But I’m not editing & piling them all at once. If I can help I’d like you to read and not just scroll past  XXXxxxx

*As much as I can help it I try to act to bring political correctness and other ways of behaving to their original intention.

Basically that you are Jim Joe Gerry Jane… Not whatever race, sex, sexual orientation, ability, disability…etc you are.

I’ve got as offensive a sense of humour as anyone with a twitter acct but its utterly imperative that I’m considerate of others wherever possible.

It’s difficult. It often seems pointless. My political correctness is pretty much gone but I’m quite ok with it. If you do anything in life involving helping people you’ll quickly learn that a lot of the time those that need it aren’t very nice. Also, I’m now painfully aware that I look like a kind person most of the time, and I get all the bad taking advantage sides of that, and seem to be lacking severely on the good. Or whatever. I’ve at times over done being a prick to counteract ppl assume I’ll give them what they want.

But there is enough BS around to remind me why I want to make the effort.

Most importantly, I’m increasingly aware of people who feel right now just like I do & often in a much worse position from it. Everybody has let you down. Everybody is just out for themselves. Nobody talking to you unless they’ve got a coldly obvious self involved reason. Everybody talking, nobody listening…so on so forth. I do meet people about the place where it feels worth making the effort to be a decent person.

*Have you ever seen that Dave Chappelle episode where the White Power guy who it turns out is actually black himself? I’ve seen pretty damn close to that recently in my work once or twice (I do medical records for Corrective Services ie people in Prison in case you were wondering). Unfortunately it’s not the combo of funny and offensive I found it in the show in real life though. It’s just plain sad and awful.

*The place where my GP is, he is often booked up and I have to arrange to see somebody else. There’s one Doctor who is a useless horrible prick. Any time I’ve had the misfortune of getting him I’ve wondered why, if he wanted to impress his parents he didn’t decide to become a prosecution lawyer or something more suited to his acerbic, severely unhelpful, paranoid, judgemental & just plain anti-personable personality. A waste of time, (and it’s a lot of significant time to go there, usually for a major reason) and an increasing amount of money too.

Trouble is, recently when I had the same problem of my Dr not being available when I had the time for an appointment, I couldn’t remember this bastard Dr’s name. The only other thing that would signify who he was out of the others I could remember was that he was black. Me being me, I’m not going to say Not the Black Guy now am I? Thinking smart I asked the receptionist to go through the names; after not being to the other Dr I liked there was a new Dr available. Ok then. I saw him and he was great. He was black too. Same country and everything.

There’s probably a moral in there somewhere.
